Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Police then found multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was likely human blood.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for details.
A high-ranking political figure commented the attack left him speechless and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on people of migrant background in February 2020.
